Planning a job in Medemblik
For a home in the old centre, access and the flue route are useful things to check early. Send photos of the boiler’s position, visible connections and the route outside if you can photograph it safely. If the property is listed or protected, let me know before we plan changes to the building.

Good to know in Medemblik
- Water from the IJsselmeer. PWN’s plant at Andijk takes water from the IJsselmeer and supplies a large part of West-Friesland. Its water is soft, averaging 7.6 °dH at Andijk in 2026, so limescale in the boiler is less of a worry here and a water softener is rarely needed.
- Newer districts leave gas first. The gemeente starts its move away from gas with homes built after 1990, such as Schepenwijk, Centrum Andijk, Kreeklanden in Wognum and Wervershoof-Oost. In the old centre and in older farmhouses, a gas boiler stays the norm for now. My guide to the rules on replacing a boiler explains what applies to you.
- Protected harbour and Twisk. Medemblik’s harbour, the area around the church and the village of Twisk are protected. Before moving a boiler or a flue on a monument, the gemeente asks you to do a permit check first.
What does it cost?
Every job gets one fixed price before I start, with no call-out charge. A fault visit is €135 incl. BTW, small parts included, and a boiler service is €145 incl. BTW plus materials.
A standard boiler replacement is a fixed price too: €2,095 incl. BTW for a CW4 (Intergas HRE 28/24 CW4 or Remeha Avanta Ace 28c), with the scope confirmed in writing. Work on the flue is assessed per job. See the prices page for the other boilers and fixed prices.

Work is booked by appointment. If your heating has stopped, say so when you message, so I can tell you whether I can help within the time you need.
