How I can help
I install, service and repair boilers, fit or move radiators, and take care of water, heating and gas pipework. Tell me what you want to change or what’s going wrong, and I’ll help you choose the next step.
- Boiler installation: a suitable model and a fixed quote for the agreed work.
- Boiler servicing: planned maintenance, with parts discussed before fitting.
- Boiler repair: no heating, pressure loss or a fault code.
- Radiators: replacement, relocation, valves and heating problems.
- Water and heating pipes: new routes for renovations and changed layouts.
Planning a job in Den Helder
Den Helder is about 45 to 50 minutes from Medemblik, so I plan my visits there ahead rather than dropping in. A boiler replacement or a planned service fits that well. If you have other jobs in mind, such as a radiator or a dripping tap, tell me when you book so I can do them in the same visit.
Send photos of the boiler, the flue and the space around it. In a flat, tell me which floor you’re on and how I get in and park.
Good to know in Den Helder
- A lot of post-war housing. The biggest group of homes in Den Helder was built between 1950 and 1970, and more than half are rented. Boilers and radiators in these homes have often been replaced piecemeal over the years, so it’s worth checking the whole system when the boiler goes.
- A heat network for De Schooten is still being studied. HVC was awarded a subsidy for a geothermal heat network that could connect around 3,000 housing-association homes in De Schooten before the end of 2030. Woningstichting Den Helder postponed its decision in 2025, so for now boilers are staying. If you own a home in De Schooten, keep an eye on the plans before you replace yours.
- Insulation subsidy. Den Helder pays owner-occupiers up to €2,250 towards insulation, depending on the WOZ value, and more for households on a low income, while the budget lasts. The conditions are on the gemeente’s site.
- Water and pipes. PWN supplies the water. Its water is soft, so limescale in the boiler is less of a worry. Homes built before 1960 can still have lead drinking-water pipes indoors.
What does it cost?
My rate is €114.95 incl. BTW per hour, with no call-out charge. A boiler service is €145 incl. BTW plus materials.
Boiler replacements are quoted as a fixed price after I have assessed the job. A standard CW4 installation is typically €1,995-€2,495 incl. BTW, with the full scope confirmed in writing. See the prices page for the other installation options.
Arrange a visit
Send me your postcode, a few photos and a short description of the job. Include preferred dates and the make and model of the boiler if you have them. I’ll check the details, explain the options and let you know when I’m next in Den Helder.
Work is booked by appointment and I don’t run a 24-hour service. Because Den Helder is a longer drive, I may not be able to come the same day for a breakdown; I’ll tell you honestly when you message.

Usually the landlord arranges the service and repairs for a boiler they own. Check your contract or ask them first. My guide on who looks after the boiler in a rented home explains the usual split.
