Does your home have district heating?

Let me know if you have a warmtenet connection rather than your own boiler. The heat supplier normally has responsibility for its own equipment. I can discuss the radiator or internal pipework work you need and help establish the scope before a visit.

Good to know in Alkmaar

• District heating in parts of town. In several neighbourhoods, housing-association homes are being connected to HVC’s heat network. The gas boiler goes and a heat unit, maintained by HVC, takes its place. If you live in a rollout area, check the plans before you replace your boiler.
• The protected old centre. The binnenstad is a protected townscape with around 380 national monuments. On a monument, changes such as a new flue outlet can need a permit from the gemeente, so reusing the existing flue route is usually the simplest option.
• Soft water. Alkmaar gets its water from PWN, which averages 7.9 °dH and counts as soft. Limescale in the boiler is less of a problem than in harder-water regions, so a water softener is rarely worth buying.

What does it cost?

Every job gets one fixed price before I start, with no call-out charge. A fault visit is €135 incl. BTW, small parts included, and a boiler service is €145 incl. BTW plus materials.

A standard boiler replacement is a fixed price too: €2,095 incl. BTW for a CW4 (Intergas HRE 28/24 CW4 or Remeha Avanta Ace 28c), with the scope confirmed in writing. Work on the flue is assessed per job. See the prices page for the other boilers and fixed prices.
